Look of the day: Layers

Today's weather is so annoying. One second you're outside shivering, the next you're inside sweating. In order to survive the winter weather, you must master the art of layering.

Not only will you stay warm, but it's also a great way to show off your unique sense of style. Make the most of what you have in your closet by layering different pieces each day. You might end up with a killer outfit that you didn't even realize you had!

So I mixed and matched a simple white shirt with a gray buttoned cardigan, and a black blazer on top, and a pair of black skinny trousers. Accesorizing it with golden vintage earings, golden cage necklace and a golden watch, to add a classy/vintage touch I used a a black quilted bag with a golden chain, as for the shoes a pair of black high heels with red soles !

Look of the day: Tweed ladylike jacket

Coco Chanel once said that simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance... and frankly, I couldn't agree more.

Chanel designed her first signature cardigan jacket in the 1920s. Since then, the typically tweed topper has been reinvented by countless fashion houses.

That's why today's look focuses on a classic and elegant piece the -ladylike jacket- and the way I've styled it, with a slew of wonderfully wearable pieces that are perfect for the modern sophisticate think: a silky red blouse, indigo slim cropped trousers, a statement piece (necklace) and a a pair of killer stilettos.

Enjoy the view!

Mariana

I used a stunning necklace to add a feminine touch to the outfit and to keep the attention on the top part of my outfit, adding a contrast to the tweed ladylike jacket.

Look of the day: Sequins !

To add some sparkle to your winter wardrobe I urge you all to jump aboard the sequin train. Whether you opt for sequined blazers or glitzy skirts like I did for this post, there's an unlimited amount of options to relish in this seasonOne of my favorite things about these sparklers is their versatility. They can be worn for day or night and in varying levels of flash as illustrated by some of the 2012 resort collections.

After having tons of work, finally I had a chance to take some shots for today's post, personally I'm obsessed with bow ties and pilgrim collars this days, so it's quite fun to try new looks with this trends. I used my favorite pair of flat shoes to give some comfort to my day ! Finally after having a lot of meetings and errands to run, here's the final result of a busy thursday.

Enjoy your FRIDAY !

Love,
Mariana

Look of the Day : Lace & Leather !

So why not embrace it instead of running from it? There is nothing to fear now that Christopher Kane, Alexander Wang and YSL have come to the rescue with a great solution, which is to mix and match lace with much warmer leather.

If you like to flaunt what you’ve got, wear a lace top with a leather skirt and a sexy pair of heels. If you are a less daring person, who prefers the understated look, try a leather dress with a lace blazer and voilá.

Take a look to my mix-match of a vintage lace top and a DIY pilmgrim collar!  adding a femme fatale touch with a leather skirt.

Love,
Mariana
